
According to a report by BBC Amharic, a drone strike on a health station in Ethiopia’s Amhara region killed at least four civilians and wounded more than ten others. The incident took place on Saturday, September 27, 2025 (Meskerem 17, 2018 E.C.), in Gubalafto Woreda, North Wollo Zone.BBC Amharic, citing eyewitnesses and medical workers, said one of the victims was a pregnant woman. The strike reportedly hit the Sanka health station, a facility about 20 kilometers from the zonal capital, Woldiya.The outlet added that survivors described the weapon hitting “Ward No. 5,” an area where patients were being treated. One health worker who lived through the attack told the BBC: “The ground collapsed as if it gave way under us. People around me fell, but God spared me.”When contacted by the BBC, the zonal administration declined to comment on either the strike itself or the scale of the destruction.The reported attack is the latest in a series of strikes that have raised concerns over civilian safety in the Amhara region, though independent verification remains limited.
