Pro-Fano sources say the Amhara Fano National Force’s Eastern Amhara (Menelik) command has declared victory after the third day of an offensive it calls “Operation Patriot Adam Ali (Aba Nadew).” In a statement circulated by pro-Fano outlets, the command says its forces have advanced across multiple districts in eastern Amhara and are continuing operations aimed at “victory and the freedom of the Amhara people.”
The pro-Fano account reports heavy violence in parts of Northern Wollo — specifically naming Lalibela, Gashena and Woldiya — and asserts that “other districts” in the zone are now under Fano control. The statement also lists areas across South Wollo (including Kutaber, Boru Silassie, Guguftu, Koreb, Debrezeit, and Saint Gumeda) as locations of growing Fano presence or activity. According to the same account, trained political officers and senior local leaders are organizing civic and political structures in territory the group describes as “liberated.”
The Fano statement is emphatic in tone — “the destination is victory” — and frames the campaign as an existential struggle for the Amhara people. It says numbers and momentum are increasing and urges continued support for the operation.
Independent reporting is mixed. An earlier Addis Standard report described heavy-weapons exchanges around Woldia and residents hearing sustained gunfire from midday into the evening; that report also quoted the Woldia town administration posting on Facebook that “the town is peaceful.” Those conflicting accounts highlight that claims about control, casualties and the tactical situation remain contested and unverified by independent observers.
